Two Worlds Tries to Tempt Us

SouthPeak has announced that Two Worlds Temptation is set to hit stores this fall on the PC and Xbox 360.

Temptation is an expansion to the open-ended RPG Two Worlds for the Xbox 360 and PC, taking place right after the events of the original. It features improved voice overs and animations, retooled horseback riding and a totally revamped combat system.

“Our entire development team is now putting their all into making Two Worlds: The Temptation a game that is far and away better than the original,” said Miroslaw Dymek, Chief Developer with Reality Pump explained. “We’ve taken to heart all the comments made by gamers about Two Worlds and we’re going to give them what they want with the sequel.”

Cabal Online Launces in NA

OGPlanet has announced that their MMO Cabal Online has officially launched in North America!

Cabal Online already boasts nearly a million players across Asia and Europe with its free to play model. It offers gamers the option to purchase in-game items, but is still fully playable under the free to play model.

More Running in the Dungeons...

NCsoft has announced that they have "heaved" out more of their successful game Dungeon Runners.

This latest content update isn't quite as heft as their previous updates, known as "Chunks". Instead, they're calling this update a "heave". It introduces a new dungeon called Balzack's Burrow for players 55+. This dungeon is loaded with loot, monsters, and a deadly final boss to do battle with.

Level 30+ players can also get help from 'Chill Bill', a formidable snowman and the first NPC that players can summon in Dungeon Runners.

Additionally, 51 new quests, two new fighter armor sets, new mythic items, a two-handed rifle for rangers and improvements to the user interface and the waypoints system are included in this "heave".

Two Worlds Multiplayer Updates

SouthPeak Games has just announced that they will be releasing two downloadable content expansions for Two Worlds.

Both of these packs will be available through Xbox Live and will expand the world of Antaloor with new multiplayer maps, new cooperative missions and player-versus-player challenges.

Two Worlds has been a huge success for SouthPeak and much of its appeal has been a huge world to explore,” said Melanie Mroz, CEO of SouthPeak Games. “Reality Pump has worked tirelessly to improve the multiplayer experience and the downloadable content is geared towards expanding upon it, offering lots of new missions and areas to explore with friends.”


The first of these expansions will be available for download in March, with the second becoming available in April. Both will cost 600 Microsoft points.

Requiem: Bloodymare Beta

Gravity Interactive has announced that the closed Beta for Requiem: Bloodymare starts Tuesday, Feb. 26.

Requiem: Bloodymare takes place in a dark, post-apocalyptic world where genetic manipulation and dark magic have spawned grotesque monsters. Players take the role of the genetically-enhanced and magically-adept Temperion soldiers, powerful beings who hold the last best hope for Ethegia.

Gamers interested in getting in on the closed Beta will want to know that FilePlanet registered users will have a limited quantity of accounts available at 4 p.m. PST on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at http://www.fileplanet.com/. Mass Effect to PC!

MassBioWare has just announced that their new parent company Electronic Arts will be bringing Mass Effect to the PC in May 2008.

Mass Effect has received high scores from the media as well as many awards, including RPG of the Year from the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences. It is a sci-fi RPG originally available only for the Xbox 360. However, EA and Microsoft have recently come to an agreement allowing the title to come to the PC.

EA promises that the game will be optimized for the PC, with high-resolution visuals, hotkeys, customizable controls, and more!

New Gothic 3 Patch

Gothic 3 fans will be pleased to announce that JoWooD Productions and Spellbound Entertainment AG have released the Patch 1.6 for Gothic 3.


This patch includes a large number of gameplay and data improvements committed by the Community Patch team. The Spellbound team has also implemented a new memory system in order to improves the game's stability and reduces the memory requirements at the same time, also for Windows Vista. Furthermore the team worked on the "Where is the Guru"-Bugs, which have been nearly eliminated, due to a variety of bug fixes which were made to address causes of game crashes. These changes have all been made with the gaming community in mind.

Legendary: The Box On Consoles

Gamecock Media Group and Spark Unlimited have just announced that their upcoming game, Legendary: The Box, will be headed to the Xbox 360 and PS3 in addition to the PC when it is released this summer.

Legendary is a first person shooter filled with mythical beasts and fantasy. The game chronicles the story of Charles Deckard, an art thief who is duped into stealing Pandora’s Box. When he inadvertently opens it, he releases hordes of beasts such as werewolves and gryphons into our world. As the man who freed these monsters and the only one that can restore order, Charles finds himself in an all out war of man versus myth.


While this isn't quite an RPG, the game's fantastic tale and beautiful screenshots have grabbed my interest, so it seems worth a bit of coverage to me. Look forward to more in the future, and in the mean time, check out the official site below:

Conan Habla Espanol

Funcom has recently announced the launch of a Spanish community forum for their upcoming MMORPG Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures. This announcement comes just a week after launching the new official site for the game at http://www.ageofconan.com/.

In addition, Funcom will be launching a Spanish localized version of the highly anticipated game simultaneously with the North American, English, German and French on May 20th, 2008. Spanish speaking gamers can now look forward to playing Conan in their native language, and can join in the community hype at the official Spanish community forum!

Open Beta for Cabal Online

OGPlanet, a provider of multiplayer online games, has recently announced the start of the U.S. open beta for Cabal Online, an action- oriented massively multiplayer online game.

Cabal Online already boasts nearly 1 million players in more than 12 countries throughout Asia and Europe . This open beta testing will begin on Feb. 1, 2008, and continue until the game officially launches on Feb. 21, 2008.

In Cabal Online, players are called upon to protect the people of Nevareth from an evil entity known as Cabal. Hundreds of years ago, CABAL nearly destroyed Nevareth. Codemasters Announces Jumpgate

Codemasters Online has recently unveiled their newest upcoming MMORPG, Jumpgate.

Developed by the US-based MMOG developer NetDevil, Jumpgate is a space-based MMO that promises to incorporate action-packed gameplay unlike anything ever seen in an online game.

In Jumpgate, gamers will choose form three playable nations and engage in intense combat across a vast universe. Players can take part in dangerous outer-space raids, trade valuable commodities, and strive to build a reputation as a galactic hero or a feared space pirate!

Codemasters and NetDevil promise that Jumpgate has been designed to be playable by both MMO veterans and n00bs. Expect it to be available across North America in late 2008.

Tiered subscription for Anarchy Online

Funcom has just announced a new tiered subscription system for their MMORPG Anarchy Online.

AO players can now choose between three different subscription plans ranging from free-to-play to $5 to 14.95 per month. This new subscription system will allow gamers to fully experience the content of the Shadowlands expansion for as low as $5 monthly.

Sword of the New World Expands

K2 Network has announced today that it has launched an expansion for its Age of Exploration MMORPG Sword of the New World: Granado Espada.

The expansions, titled Manifest Destiny, received it's name straight from the Sword of the New World community. It features five new characters, two new maps and five new zones as well as new events and additions to the game's item store.

Conan Release Set

Funcom has announced that their upcoming MMORPG, Age of Conan, has once again been delayed to allow for more development time.

The new release date is May 20, 2008, which allows for 8 more weeks to polish the title before launch. Overall, Funcom reports very positive feedback from Age of Conan so far, but feels that a little extra time will greatly benefit the game.

Time to Set Sail!

The highly anticipated MMORPG, Pirates of the Burning Sea, is now available!

From Sony Online Entertainment, Pirates of the Burning Sea is available for $49.99 with a montly subscription of $14.99.

Pirates will give gamers the opportunity to be the Captain of their own ship in the 1720s. Players start by joining the French, Spanish, English or Pirate nations as a naval officer, freetrader, privateer or pirate. Players can blow enemy ships out of the water in ferocious sea battles, or engage in action-filled sword fights on land. The game's unique economy allows gamers to become captains of industry, running mines, lumber mills, shipyards and other large-scale operations. Former K2 Executives have come together to launch the new MMO Publisher True Games.


True Games Interactive formally launched today, 1/17/08, as a global publisher for online games. Jeff Lujan and Bob Drobish, former key executives behind the K2 Network, have recently left K2 to launch True Games.

Conan Collectors Edition Announced

Funcom and Eidos recently revealed that an Age of Conan Collector's Edition will be available when the highly anticipated MMO launches in March.

This exciting limited edition box set features exclusive assets and plenty of unique in game items. In addition to the game itself, the box comes with an impressive art book, the original soundtrack, a bonus DVD, a faux leather map of Hyboria, and additional gamekeys which can be given to MMO friends. Making this offer even more limited, all of the Collectors Edition copies will be printed in one batch, so once they're gone they're history!

Ballerium Goes Live

It's been a looong time since Just-RPG has reported on Ballerium, but the MMORTS from Majorem has finally been released!

Majorem describes their game like this:

Ballerium is a far off planet facing troubling times. Chunk 2 is Live

NCsoft has recently announced the release of Chunk 2, the second content update for its successful free to download and play MMORPG, Dungeon Runners.

This update includes features such as in-game advertising in non-member worlds, more bank space for members, item trading, increased access to prime loot, and overall Player versus Environment (PvE) and Player versus Player (PvP) balance refinements.

The new in-game advertising will help to fund future developments for this popular MMORPG, keeping it free to the players. However, players that do not want to deal with the advertising can avoid it for only $4.99 per month.

Fury for Free

FuryGamecock Media Group and Auran Games have announced a new free model for MMORPG Fury. This will mean that Fury will be free to download and free to play.

The new business model will begin with the release of the first major free content update Age of the Chosen on December 14, 2007.

Age of the Chosen is a massive content update that introduces two new gameplay types. “Carnage” puts players into two teams with the aim of returning blood tokens to their base faster than their opposition. Blood tokens are gained from killing bots, not other players, so the action is indirect competition rather than head to head. The 1 vs. 1 Elimination game type means games will spawn faster and matches are more evenly balanced.

BioShock Add-On

Yay, BioShock!2K Games has announced a free BioShock Add-On expanding on their critically acclaimed title for PC and Xbox 360.

This Add-On features new plasmids, new tonics, new achievements and an improved interface. The EVE Saver Tonic has been added to the game, allowing players to spend less EVE on their Plasmids. Vending Expert reduces the cost of Vending Machine items and Machine Buster increases damage against turrets and cameras.

The new Plasmid, Sonic Boom, allows players to launch enemies and objects with a burst of force. A true wide-screen display opition is also available.

Two Worlds Expansion Announced

ZUXXEZ Entertainment has recently announced Two Worlds: Temptation, an add-on to the massive RPG Two Worlds for Xbox 360 and PC.

The already content filled universe of Two Worlds is getting even bigger, along with improved gameplay, and answers to some key storyline questions. Besides Antaloor, several new regions will be available for exploration. The combat system will also be improved allowing for active blocking.

Other improvements include a new form of transportation and enhanced NPC interaction. Many other surprises are to be announced shortly.

Temptation is already in the works and should be released in early 2008.

While Two Worlds is ripe with flaws, it's really nice to see a developer so dedicated to their game. A recent patch was delivered to fix many of the flaws in the game, and it appears that the upcoming expansion will hold even more improvements.

Red Stone Premium Package

K2K2 Network has announced some details about the launch of their MMORPG, Red Stone.

AVENCAST Now In Stores

Publisher Lighthouse Interactive and developer ClockStone Software have just announced that AVENCAST: Rise of the Mage is now available in major retail stores across North America and Europe.

AVENCAST is a fantasy action RPG for Windows. It features over 50 special moves and spells, as well as an arsenal of weapons to wield in combat against over 30 horrifying enemies.

Interplay Still Kicking

Apparently Interplay has announced that they have revived their internal development studio to begin work on an unnannounced MMORPG project. They are also continuing work at securing funding for the game. and company by leveraging their existing properties.

In other exciting Interplay news, they have announced that Fallout veteran Jason Anderson has joined their team to serve as Creative Director.

While it hasn't been "officially" announced, we all obviously know that they're working on a Fallout MMO, so it only makes sense that Jason Anderson be brought on board for that.
